Wild Oregano Oil: A Unique Italian Herb

By Diann Sedlacek

Plants are a good source of health benefits. Even the spice that is used in our meals is good for our health and has medicinal value. One example is garlic. Garlic is a well known spice but also is a natural antibiotic. It can prevent growth of microorganisms causing infections.

Many of our ancestors had used plants as not just a source of food but as well a source for health and medicinal benefits. Another plant, the oregano, a spice most famously used in Italian dishes also has the same medicinal value as the garlic.

Wild oregano oil is extracted from the Wild Oregano plant. They grow high up in the mountains free from pollution. This oregano oil is a natural antibiotic used in preventing the growth of microscopic organisms like bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses.

Our bodies have a built-in immune system. When foreign microbes attack our body, the immune system produces anti bodies to fight off the invaders. Our scientists and medical researchers had formulated antibiotics (anti bodies) from plants or either other microorganisms to fight off invaders when our immune system can not fight the said foreign bodies.

Studies have shown that the wild oregano oil is effective in boosting our immune system. Simply put, it makes our immune system stronger in fighting harmful foreign microbes thus making us less vulnerable to catch diseases and infections such as colds and flu, etc. Infections in our bodies are most commonly caused by bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses.

If your immune system is weak or compromised, you are more likely to catch infections and diseases commonly caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites, etc. once in contact with any of these. The wild oregano oil aids in toughening up your immune system and in eliminating the unwelcoming microbes responsible for causing us sickness.

Bacteria are present almost everywhere. They thrive in water, land and even inside our bodies. Bacteria are present in our skin, airways, mouth and digestive tracts. Most of them are not damaging to our health. Bacteria that cause illness to humans are called pathogens. They attack our body's tissues and cells and produce toxins that make us fall ill. Parasites are another cause of human infections. The toxic wastes they produce are often harmful to us. They take away our intake of nutrition as they steal the food we eat and they eat as well tissues and cells.

A germ called fungus causes infections to us as well. Usually fungal infections are on the skin and are easy to treat. However they can pose a serious threat to our health once the infection is left untreated. Fungi can travel to major organs and cause a fatal infection. Common colds are caused by a virus. There is no known cure for the common colds yet. They come and go. The best way to fight off viral infection is to have a healthy and strong immune system to defend our body from invading virus. The essential oils found in wild oregano are boosters of our health. This wild oregano oil has antibacterial, anti parasitic, anti viral and anti fungal properties shielding us from these harmful microorganisms.

It also has analgesic and anesthetic property making it as a natural pain reliever as well as an anti inflammatory property that helps in reducing soreness or swelling. Most of us have experienced a headache or a toothache. Studies have shown that the wild oregano oil can be used to relieve us from the pain caused by headache and toothache because of its anesthetic or analgesic property. It is effective in treating tooth ache as it not just addresses the pain but as well helps in getting rid of the bacteria causing the pain. Imagine that! For a simple green leaf plant, it sure has great healing powers.

Homeopathic Migraine Relief

Homeopathy involves the use of non-toxic medicine for the treatment of illnesses. Several remedies used for homeopathic migraine relief, are available from pharmacies or health food stores. These medicines have been found to be very beneficial, especially at the onset of an attack. If you are able to identify the particular symptoms of your migraine headache; e.g. whether they are worse in the mornings or afternoons, then you are in a better position to determine which treatment would be best for you.

There are a number of homeopathic migraine relief remedies available, and they are generally safe. However, because each person's pain and makeup differs, then a remedy that benefits one person might not be helpful to another. It is for this reason, that you should identify the peculiar symptoms of your migraine headache. You can then opt for a treatment that relates to those signs. If after using the medicine for a reasonable period of time there is no improvement, then discontinue using it, and seek an alternative remedy.

Some common homeopathic remedies include:

Natrum Muriaticum

This is normally recommended for migraines that occur on the right side of the head. In addition, these headaches tend to be aggravated by one or several other factors such as exposure to the sun, and emotional upset. They also tend to be worse in the morning, and the pain is likened to a constant pounding in the head. Other symptoms include watery eyes, and tingling in the lips and face.

Byronia

This is useful if you are having a severe headache with starts near the eyes and then spreads to the entire head. Any movement of the eyes or head, tends to worsen the condition, and persons also complain of experiencing excessive thirst. Nausea and vomiting can also occur.

Belladonna

Useful for the relief of migraine headaches that originate at the back of the skull or upper neck. The pain can also spread to the forehead and temple. The attacks are more common in the afternoon, and are associated with very intense shooting pains in the head. Other symptoms include drowsiness, sensitivity to light and cold hands and feet.

Nux Vomica

This is normally used for migraines that result from stress and mental strain. The headaches usually occur in the mornings and start over one eye, usually the left. The headaches are accompanied by gastric problems such as constipation, or a bloated abdomen.

Sepia

Normally recommended for migraines that occur on the left side of the head. These are usually the result of skipping meals. They become more acute close to the menstrual period and during menopause. The pain associated with these headaches has been described as being similar to shocks. Persons normally become irritable and feel fatigued.

The use of homeopathic migraine relief remedies has become very common, as people seek alternatives to prescription drugs for treating migraines. It should be noted that the medicine works best when matched with the specific symptoms that you have. Particular attention should also be paid to the dosage, as this can vary according to the individual and the condition. As long as care is taken, homeopathic medicine can be very effective for the treatment of migraine headaches.

Migraine Symptoms: It Could Be Down to a Simple Food Intolerance!

Doctors know very little about migraine headaches except that they run in families, and may be caused by many conditions ranging from nervous excitement, disturbed sleep patterns, stress and reactions to certain foods, such as cheese or chocolate. These headaches can last hours, sometimes days, and often come with nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to sound and light, and, perhaps most strangely of all, distorted sensory perception, especially vision. If you add together the range of different symptoms and so many different potential triggers, it is no surprise that researchers are perplexed about the science behind these headaches, or that sufferers seem to find treatments so hit-and-miss.

An estimated 12.5% of people in the UK suffer with migraines meaning that roughly 7 million people in just the UK alone. It is estimated that migraine costs businesses an estimated 1bn pounds every year as a result of lost productivity with the average migraineur missing between 1.5 and 4.5 days from work annually.

In many people migraines are triggered by reactions to foods. Clinical studies have shown that management of the diet can reduce the severity and, or, frequency of headaches or even stop them. The problem with attempting any dietary modification is that first you need to know what to change. Currently the best accepted method for confirming food sensitivities is by elimination diet. This involves eating a restricted diet for several weeks. If there is no reduction in the frequency or intensity of the attacks during this time, it is assumed that the food type that has been restricted is not the problem and the process is repeated with another food type. This method is very time consuming, and because it is impossible to test all the different combinations of food types that may be causing the problems, it is a very ineffective process.

Thankfully, help is at hand with a simple testing service that identifies the trigger foods responsible for food intolerances. This scientific approach, which can be used to identify the different food types involved for each individual, is a blood test that measures food-specific IgG antibodies. Your body is unique and doesn't lie, either you have antibody reactions to certain food combinations or you don't, and the best way to find out is by carrying out a test. You then get an accurate reading of exactly what foods your body is reacting against so that you know what to avoid.

The test is backed by hard evidence; new findings from York University and York Test, who surveyed 514 migraine and headache sufferers, showed that 81% benefited in terms of the frequency and severity of their attacks if they removed the foods from their diet that showed a positive reaction. The fact that people saw a return of their migraine and, or, headache symptoms on reintroduction of the foods identified by the food-specific IgG test supports the fact that this is an active and specific approach. The test used in the study is the York Test foodSCAN, it only requires a few drops of blood from a finger prick that can be collected in the comfort of your own home.

These latest findings are further confirmation of the direct link between certain health complaints and diet. The test that was used for the survey is the only one of its kind endorsed by the charity Allergy UK and York Test has 25 years of experience in the food intolerance testing market. So for those suffering from headaches and migraines, fortunately there's new food for thought in your quest to rid yourself of this burden!

Dr. Gillian Hart is a Scientific Director for York Test Laboratories Ltd. York Test specialist in allergy and food intolerance testing. For more information visit http://www.yorktest.com or call 0800 074 6185.

Simple Ways To Treat Your Headache

By Jamal Khan

Sometimes the problems that come along with migraines can be so severe that they interrupt daily life. Fortunately, headache clinics across the country can offer help. Although the vast majority of headaches are transitory and minor problems, some portions of the population suffer from headaches that strike so frequently and so painfully that their lives are interrupted. In these cases, preventive measures should be undertaken as much as possible. Headache Clinics can be a effective treatment of the problem and can seriously mitigate the issue and perhaps even completely relieve it.

The medical community has split the headache problem into three categories. Primary headaches are what the vast majority of sufferers experience, and they are very rarely life threatening. Despite sometimes severe pain, over the counter medicine is usually effective. Such medications are typically an effective way to reduce the pain significantly. Primary headaches most commonly take place when emotional and physical stress cause a contraction of muscles around the skull.

Problems requiring treatment at headache clinics are most likely related to cluster or secondary headaches. These serious headaches can occur seemingly at any time, causing severe pain in the sufferer. Cluster headaches come about in groupings, with patients sometimes going a year or more with no symptoms. A cluster headache can be identified by a runny nose or eyes, and severe pain behind the eye region. In these cases, treatment should be sought as soon as possible. Secondary headaches can be indicative of more serious issues in the brain. These kinds of problems should be treated at headache clinics. Although relieving pain with these varieties of headache can be difficult, there are medications designed to provide relief under these circumstances.

It is also very important that the root cause of a secondary headache be promptly identified. A secondary headache typically indicates a deeper brain issue, and it is vital that these issues receive attention at headache clinics, or by another specialist. Specialists at headache clinics like the Mayo Clinic are very well equipped to diagnose and treat the problems associated with severe headache pain. A Headache Clinic can be found around the world, and should be visited when chronic headaches cannot be treated normally. As chronic headaches can also be a symptom of other issues, it is important to seek prompt medical care.

Benefits of drinking water: Get the facts how water can cure you

By Nicos Stylianou

Some time ago I read a book which was called "Your Body's Many Cries For Water". What was very interesting for me to learn, were the many benefits of drinking water on our general health.

Besides the other very interesting facts which stress the importance of drinking water, the author makes special reference to some common ailments that almost all of us suffer from now and then and shows that their most probable cause is dehydration. Below, I give you some examples:

Headaches and migraines

We all suffer from headaches, or even worse migraines from time to time. Some of us more and some others less severely. What you might find surprising to find out, is that more often than not, we should blame ourselves for not drinking enough water.

The medical explanation goes like this: When our brain, which is mainly composed of water (75% to be exact), senses that its water level is dangerously low, it produces histamines which cause the familiar symptoms of a headache, i.e. pain and the feeling of being tired. These symptoms intend to force us into reducing our activity level. This will in turn help preserve the minimum water level in our brain that will allow it to function without a problem.

More often than not, a big glass of pure water and a 20 minute break will work better than any pain killer medication to make our headache go away!

Sore Back

Second in my list of the benefits of drinking water comes another ailment which is one of the leading causes for loss of workdays and for the creation of a lot of distress and pain. This is none other than the back pain.

Let me elaborate on this.

As you might probably know, our backbone is made up of a number of discs. While externally these discs are made up of a hard shell, internally they are filled with water. When the level of water inside is adequate, then they provide ample support to the disc, helping it cope with the pressure exerted on them when we move our upper body.

Being flexible, our discs respond to the varying pressure exerted on them when we move our upper body, by shifting their shape. When they do this, water that stands around in our body is sucked inside the discs. As long as there is enough water around, then our discs have no problem, as they are properly filled with fluid.

The problem begins when we don't replenish our body's natural stock of water by drinking enough quantities. When the discs are shifting, then there is not enough water around them to be sucked inside, as explained above. The result is devastating: The internal fluids are gradually depleted and so the outer shell of the discs is no longer supported. Without this support, our poor discs are helpless, as the whole weight of the body is shifted on them! Pain and swelling ensues, putting us in distress and agony.

High blood pressure

The importance of drinking water is also manifested in the case of hypertension, that is the increase in pressure exerted by our blood circulatory system on the arteries.

You probably don't know this, but it has long been established that hypertension more often than not occurs when the total volume of our blood goes down. Considering now that more than 80% of our blood consists of water, then it is easy to realize that dehydration can very well lead to blood volume loss.

When the total volume of our blood decreases, then an alert is triggered in our body. What follows is that our blood circulatory system self-adjusts by guiding all blood flow to the most active organs, switching everything else off. Hypertension inevitably ensues, as a consequence of this blood redistribution.

To summarize, it goes without saying that improving your quality of life can be as simple as getting into the habit of drinking more water each and every day.

Having said the above, I can't emphasize enough the importance of making sure that the quality of water that you and your family consume at your house, is top quality. You see, it is not at all guaranteed that the water you get now is what your body should be getting. There are numerous statistics saying that both tap and bottled water maybe of questionable quality. Make sure that you thoroughly investigate your options on what actions to take to have clean, healthy water at your home.

Homeopathy for Headaches - Does it Work?

By Amy Cantwell

Headaches plague millions of people every day. Stress headaches, migraines, sinus headaches, and even headaches related to a dietary deficiency or dental problem can affect your quality of life and make it very difficult to get through a day. Conventional medicines are effective at covering up the symptoms for a while, but they do not work forever. Over the counter pain relievers can cause a tolerance to build up in your body after a while so that they no longer relieve your headaches as well as they once did.

Several people who suffer from headaches are trying homeopathic treatment, which is no surprise. If you want an all-natural way of helping your body heal itself while encouraging optimal health, nothing is better than homeopathic treatments. There are many treatments for homeopathy headaches that don't require medication, such as changes to your diet, sleeping and drinking more water, exercise and stress relief.

Treating headaches with homeopathy teaches the body how to treat its own problems. Some medicines actually cause the very symptoms that the sufferer is trying to clear up, calling the body's defenses to action. Besides bringing instant relief, this can also lessen the appearance of general symptoms over an extended period of time.

Homeopathic treatments or medications for homeopathy for headaches can be found from a homeopathic health practitioner, health food and supplement stores, and from some homeopathic supply dealers. If you are looking in a health food or supplement store, you may see bottles of supplements labeled as "headache relief," "migraine support," or similar names. These capsules often contain the same type of homeopathic medicines that are given individually or in specific combinations by homeopathic health practitioners.

However, in order to ensure that you are taking a product that will benefit your specific type of headache, it may be beneficial to ask a homeopathic health practitioner to look at the ingredients for you. If you decide to go with a more personalized treatment, homeopathy for headaches is easy to accomplish with just a basic working knowledge of homeopathy medicines. Most homeopathy books contain a headache section that will help you choose the correct medicines for headache relief.

With homeopathic remedies for a headache, just like with all homeopathic treatment, what works for one person may not work for the next. You may have to experiment with treatments and medicines to see what works best for you. When you do, you will be amazed at how great it feels to get through entire days without worrying about headaches.

What Can Acupunture Cure?

By Bi Kun tan

Increasingly, patients in the west are becoming familiar with ancient Chinese and Indian medicines, one example of which is acupuncture. Unfortunately, most people seem to think of acupuncture only as a last resort, although the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes it as a primary cure for a variety of complaints.

Generally, people think of acupuncture as a cure for pain. While this is true, pain is not the only case where acupuncture can be helpful. There are over 40 diseases for which the WHO recommends acupuncture treatment, including: TMJ, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, plantar fasciitis, fibromyalgia, and migraines.

Among the ailments that acupuncture is recommended for are a variety of digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome and acid reflux. Acupuncture offers help for everyone from asthmatics to people with kidney stones. Women especially may benefit from acupuncture in cases of morning sickness and PMS.

Those suffering from brain disorders, depression, anxiety, or insomnia can benefit from acupuncture. In fact, properly administered, acupuncture can be used to treat almost any disease. People have begun to realize its many benefits and acupuncture institutes are springing up everywhere to train practitioners.

The benefits of acupuncture are so far-ranging that it is hard to sum them up in one short article. Basically, all of the major systems of the body: digestive, neurological, respiratory, urinary, reproductive, immune, musculosketetal, and circulatory can be helped with acupuncture treatment, as well as emotional problems and addictions.

Many people choose acupuncture as a preventive medicine or because their illness is too small for other Western medicines to cure. This proves extremely beneficial when one wants to get rid of a small nagging pain or wants to get refreshed and rejuvenated

A major reason that acupuncture has taken hold in the west is that many people have discovered its benefits for reproductive health. Many people who struggle with impotence, PMS, or infertility have turned to acupuncture for help. Once acupuncture has helped a couple conceive, it can also help a mother-to-be cope with morning sickness!

This article has only begun to list some of the many disorders than can be treated using acupuncture. From this beginning, there should be no doubt that acupuncture is a powerful tool that has an important role to play in modern healthcare.

How to Use This Migraine Treatment To Find Some Migraine Relief

By Robert Kaufman

Having a migraine is an intense pain like you have never felt. The pain, due to a migraine, is unlike any normal headache pain. The pain from a migraine is much worse because it has pain coming from several directions all meeting at one location in your brain. Many sufferers of this painful headache will know when they are getting one because they will start to see an aura of spots and lights.

Once this aura has run it course and disappears, then the pain will step up and make you feel extremely miserable. Many sufferers will often seek out ways to relieve headache pain and to make it go away. This excruciating pain comes into the brain from several sources such as the blood vessels dilating, the release of certain chemicals, the swelling of the brain, and the muscle tension. This pain can get so bad that the sufferer will often lie in a dark room, vomit, and will be out of commission for many days. This is why they often seek out a migraine treatment.

One migraine relief remedy which will help to ease the pain one feels with a migraine is biofeedback. This basically is a way in which we can control our body's reaction to stress by utilizing some relaxation therapies. This method trains our brain to react to a negative feeling as though it were reacting to a real feeling and thus tricking it into releasing the hormones that will lessen the pain. Some techniques this method uses are deep breathing, visualization, and meditation.

Another migraine remedy to help ease the pain is acupuncture. This technique uses many small and thin needles and places them all over your head on the pressure points. This in turn helps release the pressure that is building up at that pressure point and alleviates your pain. While this is a very successful method to handle the pain, many often do not try this because they are afraid of the needles.

Aromatherapy is further treatment that will help ease migraine pain. This works wonders because your nose is connected directly to your brain. When you smell certain aromas, the smell will travel up to your brain and then it will release hormones that reduce pain.

An additional way to get rid of the migraine pain is through myotherapy. Myotherapy is simply a method that helps relax our muscle spasms, improves our circulation, and alleviates the pain. There are trigger points throughout our bodies that get tight and hold all the pain. This therapy uses these trigger points and rubs them with fingers, hands, and elbows.

One more remedy which will help rid your pain is natural treatments. A natural migraine treatment is the best way to treat your pain while you are at home or even on vacation. These natural methods consist of massaging your shoulders and neck, lying down in a dark and quiet room, pressing on the two pressure points on the back of your neck, and placing a cold pack on your neck while your feet soak in warm water.

If you currently suffer from a migraine, you should try to put these methods into use so you can get some migraine relief. To lessen the pain, you should try to use these methods: biofeedback, acupuncture, aromatherapy, myotherapy, and natural treatments. While there is no migraine cure, you can use these techniques to make sure that your next migraine is not as painful.

Understanding Migraine Headaches

By Christian Goodman

Your head is not really hurting when you feel that you have a headache. Did you know that brain tissues and skull bones don't have the nerve fibers that are sensitive to pain and therefore can't generate the sensation of pain? Then why does your head hurt when you have a migraine?

Migraine headaches have something to do with the blood vessels, that is why they are called vascular headaches. When you are experiencing migraine, your temporal artery is enlarged, which is located just under the skin at your temple. When this happens, it makes the tiny nerve fibers twisted around it to release chemicals.

The chemicals released cause pain, inflammation, and further enlargement of the temporal artery. The greater the swelling, the worse your pain becomes. So why does this artery enlarge to the point of causing severe pain?

The answer may lie in another naturally occurring chemical in the body. Serotonin is one of two major neurotransmitters in the brain that control blood vessel size, among other things. (Norepinephrine is the other one.) Studies done before a migraine show an abnormally high level of serotonin. During the migraine the serotonin level drops to an unusually low level.

While the actual cause of migraines remains a mystery, researchers are looking at a genetic predisposition, since migraine sufferers tend to run in families. They're hoping to find a definitive answer in the near future.

The impact of this unbearable headache is not only felt by the migraine sufferers, but business establishments as well. Studies have shown than around 150 million workdays are lost each year because of migraine headaches. This is equivalent to around $5-7 billion dollars.

The missed work and productivity that's lost from migraines is not just the problem of those who must endure the headaches, it's becoming a significant burden to the general public, through no fault of those living with the constant threat of suffering. Migraine headaches affect 28 million people in this country, more often females, although men suffer them too.

Migraines are often times under diagnosed and often untreated, that is why it becomes persistent. Doctors miss the diagnosis of migraine headaches in more than half the people who have them. Treatments prescribed are often not effective.

One reason why treatments are not effective is that most doctors prescribe pills for the headache. The problem with pills is that migraines usually stimulate the sympathetic nervous system, the one that controls the 'fight or flight' mechanisms in the body.

When the sympathetic nervous system is activated, it postpones the emptying of stomach contents into the small intestine, preventing any absorption into your system. So instead of getting broken down and absorbed, the pills just sit in your stomach.

There is another solution though. The Migraine and Headache Relief program is a simple to use program that's given thousands of migraine sufferers amazing results. It doesn't require the body to be able to absorb or process anything during the stressful time of a migraine attack.

The Migraine and Headache Relief Program only entails several simple to do exercises and only needs a few minutes a day to do. It is effective in reducing and in many cases eliminating the debilitating effects of migraine. Reclaim your life, use the program!

Natural Pain Relief - From the Chinese!

By Yolanda Adey

Everyone will suffer pain at some point in their lives and strange as it may sound, some pain is necessary; it's a signal from our brain that something is wrong which we need to address to protect our health and well-being. The pain can be the result of accident, sickness or disease but the point is if you know where the sensation is coming from then it is usually much easier to diagnose and then treat.

The real problem occurs when the pain will not go away despite out best efforts to treat the cause of it.

Many of us have experienced this to a degree when we suffer a headache or a migraine but it also refers to conditions like arthritis and back pain. There is no preventative action you can take to stop chronic pain and it can affect someone at anytime during their life from almost any situation from accident, injury or disease.

Chronic pain often long outlives its original cause, worsening over time and taking on a life of its own and the longer chronic pain goes untreated, the worse it becomes.

Many people are now tired of taking drugs which they tend to need in larger quantities to work or are afraid of the side effects so are looking for natural pain relief alternatives.

One very old practice providing natural pain relief is acupuncture which many people who suffer with chronic illness tend to favor. This method of pain relief has been used successfully in China and the East for many thousands of years.

This is used by people who have tried all the normal traditional medical treatments but have found acupuncture brings the greatest relief from pain. Other people have started using herbal remedies as a natural pain relief treatment because there is little chance of any adverse side effects causing further problems. One example is vitamin E which is a natural pain relief treatment for people suffering with painful scarring.

Some people do not like using these herbal remedies, not because they do not provide enough relief but because they take longer to work; the plus side is that nothing synthetic is entering the system that can harm it. If the truth be known then one way of even having to avoid natural pain relief is to change the way you life by eating healthier which means cutting back on processed foods but increasing your intake of fruit and vegetables.

Take care to get enough sleep each night, and take time out of each day for exercise as even simple activities like taking the stairs at work or a walk around the block go a long way towards improving your health.

Get Rid Of Your Headaches Naturally

Most of us have plenty to do each day so having a headache can really make it difficult to get it all accomplished. A headache can range from something dull but achy to a migraine which means you really can’t function at all. There are over the counter medications as well as prescribed ones you can take in order to seek relief.

There are plenty of natural cures for headaches though that you may find to be helpful. If you get them on a regular basis then this even more important. Most people don’t realize that a headache can mean you aren’t taking proper care of your body. For example you may be hungry or tired and that is what triggers your pain.

Making sure you get enough sleep and that you are eating a balanced diet can really help. Take an inventory of what you eat as well. Sometimes there are patterns that can be recognized. For example caffeine headaches are common which means your body is too dependent on it. When you cut back on caffeine it is normal to have such headaches for a few days as your body adjusts.

Make sure you drink enough water as well. Too many people drink other items all day long instead. As a result the body isn’t getting enough water that it needs to remove various toxins from the body. You may not be dehydrated but you still aren’t at your very best when that happens. Make sure you drink 6 -8 glasses of water each day.

The problem with a headache is that it can come on suddenly. It doesn’t care where you are or what you have planned for the day. Stress is a very common onset of a headache because the muscles in your body become very tense. Do your best to get rid of stress that you don’t need in your life. This is one of the best natural cures for headaches you will find.

Soaking in a hot bath will help to loosen up those muscles. As a result the headache should get better. A massage in those areas that are tense such as the neck, shoulders, and back can really help as well. It can be done by a professional but asking your partner to give you one before bed can help you to relax as well.

You can use various types of aromatherapy as well to improve how you feel. There are candles, bath salts, and scented oils you can purchase to use at home. If you get a professional massage they may offer them as well. Acupuncture and Reflexology methods can be offered by professionals as well. They target specific areas of the body that can offer you relief from headaches.

Exercise does a great deal for both the mind and the body. Make sure you are getting some form of it every day. Doing so helps keep your heart healthy and your circulation working like it should. Not enough exercise can result in headaches due to the circulation slowing down. Make sure you find activities you like so you can remain active each day.

It is important to pay attention to the signals that you get from your body. Frequent headaches are a sign that something isn’t right. Rather than taking medications and continuing like you were, it is wise to make some changes to your lifestyle. That way you can use natural cures for headaches and enjoy each day to the fullest.

Living With Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is a natural way to help your body and your mind feel better. You can use scented candles, soaps, or oils. In order to get the most benefit from it, you need to learn what the various types of aromatherapy can offer you.

Some scents are designed to improve your mood while others are going to rejuvenate your energy levels. You can use some at night before bed to help you relax and fall asleep. There are also those that are designed to help relieve aches and pains. Whatever you are suffering from you can likely find relief with a type of aromatherapy.

Since the various aromatherapy scents do offer such differences in benefits, you want to be certain you get one that is right for what you need to take care of. Otherwise you may end up with no effect at all. The other possibility is that you get the opposite effect of what you wanted. You may need to sleep and then you discover you have a surge of energy!

You don’t want to use the wrong aromatherapy scent though because it can be a problem. For example if you are trying to relax so you can get a good night of sleep, you don’t want to use one that is going to make you more alert and full of energy. There is plenty of information online as well as books so you can be sure you are using the right ones.

It is never a good idea to mix various types of aromatherapy together though. Unless you are skilled at this, you may not end up with the results you want. There hasn’t been any indication that aromatherapy can be harmful but you still don’t want to reduce the overall effects of it by mixing them and rendering what you need ineffective.

Various types of aromatherapy have been known to help a person fight off an infection. Some individuals with very serious medical problems including arthritis and cancer regularly use aromatherapy as a way to boost their immune system. This is accomplished by helping the body to remove toxins.

Aromatherapy is a very affordable way to get some relieve from various things in your life. You may want to use it to lighten your mood, to relieve aches and pains, to rest, and even to get rid of chronic headaches. How Many Different Types Of Headaches Can One Experience?

Several people have been known to experience different types of headaches at different times in there life so it is important to get the correct diagnosis by keeping a journal of the event and time that the headaches took place. Tension headache are widely believed to come from to much anxiety and stress in your life so make sure and put in your journal any related stress or anxiety attacks and try and minimize your stress levels. Sometimes headaches are separated into vascular, muscle contraction (tension), traction, and inflammatory types of headaches.

Check out the list below of the most common types of headaches:

Headaches: The problem today is headaches have become so common to many that they are just a part of everyday life. Headaches occur very regularly, usually at the same time each day, and they often keep a person up during the night. They can sometimes affect young children and even babies, causing them to become cranky and fussy. Various headaches can be caused by having high blood pressure, which causes pressure on the blood vessels and circulatory system throughout the body.

Tension headaches: Many refer to these as the chronic daily headaches and are the most common type of headaches among adults and adolescents. These muscle contraction headaches cause mild pain and come and go over a prolonged period of time.

Migraines: Doctors are still unsure of the causes of migraines, although they are related to blood vessel contractions and other changes in the brain as well as inherited abnormalities in certain areas of the brain. Migraine pain is moderate to severe and can last from 4 hours to 3 days and usually occur 1 to 4 times per month. Migraines are associated with symptoms such as light sensitivity, noise, nausea or vomiting and upset stomach or abdominal pain. They are vascular in origin, and may be preceded by visual disturbances, loss of peripheral vision, and fatigue plus they can be provoked by changes in your environment, such as menstruation, emotional stress, significant weather changes, lack of sleep, or even the opposite-too much rest (vacation migraine).

Cluster headaches: These are the least common, although the most painful type of headache. The pain of a cluster headache is intense and may be described as having a burning or piercing quality that is throbbing and constant. Many people say the pain is so severe that they cannot sit still and will often pace during an attack. Many times the pain is located behind one eye or in the eye region, without changing sides. Cluster headaches occur one to three times per day during a cluster period, which may last 2 weeks to 3 months and have been found to be more frequent in smokers than non-smokers.

Sinus headaches: Many sinus headaches are brought on by allergies, hay fever, cold, dry weather and anything that adversely affects the sinus cavity. Taking sinus headache medicine is the best solution since it has an ingredient to help drain the sinuses and relieve the pressure that causes the pain. Sinus headaches are associated with a deep and constant pain in the cheekbones, forehead or bridge of the nose. The pain usually intensifies with sudden head movement or straining and usually occurs with other sinus symptoms, such as nasal discharge, feeling of fullness in the ears, fever, and facial swelling.

The most common types of headaches usually are not serious but may occur again and again over a long period of time. There are several different contributing factors that lead to the development of tension headache, migraines, cluster headaches and sinus headaches and most likely you fall somewhere in between these types of headaches.
